Billy Walker

Billy Walker, 65, of Chualar, passed away Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, in Salinas. He was born June 6, 1944, in Frakes, Ky. Billy was the owner of Walker Equipment Sales as well as the Director of the Calif. Rodeo, Past President of Monterey County Sheriff's Posse, and a 32nd degree Mason. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ollie Walker; father, Ed Walker; and brothers, Eddie and Bobby. Survivors: He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Kathleen; sons, Tony (Gidget) of Huntington Beach, Bobby (Shelby) of Yuma Ariz.; and daughter, Michelle Ruark (Shane) Portland Ore.; brother, Charles (Detra)Walker; sisters, Mary (Sal) Argo, Garline (Randall) Powers, Nancy Adkins, and grandchildren, Kyle, JT, and Hannah. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Billy joined the Posse in 1982, was man of the year in 1985 and served as President in 1995 & 1996.

Visitation: From 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, at Struve and Laporte Chapel, 41 W. San Luis St., Salinas.
Memorial service: 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at the First Presbyterian Church, 830 Padre Dr., Salinas.
Reception: Immediately following in Church Hall.
Private Burial: Will be held at a local cemetery.
Memorials: Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society .
